Call for Expression of Interest for the Master's Degree Program for the Academic Year 2023 - 2024

1. The Schools:

- Shipbuilding Mechanical Engineering
- Applied Mathematics and Natural Sciences

operate Interdisciplinary - Interdepartmental Postgraduate Studies Program (DPMS) full-time in the subject "Automation Systems" in accordance with the written provisions. The start of the 26th study cycle of the DPMS (6th after its re-establishment according to Law 4485/2017), will take place in October 2023.

The postgraduate program "Automation Systems" has been included in the project "Support for the Internationalization of Postgraduate Studies of the National Technical University of Athens (MIS 5161485)" and is co-financed by Greece and the European Union ECB through the Operational Program "Human Resource Development, Education and Lifelong Learning", with the aim of participation students and from abroad.

In this context, with the implementation of the actions, teaching will take place exclusively in the English language. In the selection criteria for postgraduate students, the knowledge of the English language will be counted from this year with increased weight.


2. In order to obtain the Graduate Studies Diploma (MSD), attendance and a successful examination in 12 courses are required, as well as the preparation and successful examination of a Master's Thesis.


3. The right to submit applications to the DPMS "Automation Systems" has the graduates of Positive and Polytechnic Schools A.E.I. of the country or equivalent recognized Schools abroad, as defined by law. Candidates can also be those who become diploma holders/graduates during the examination period of September 2023. A good knowledge of foreign languages, especially English, is necessary, the excellent knowledge of which will be taken into account with increased importance from this year (see also above).


4. The selection of students will be made in accordance with the conditions of article 34 of Law 4485/2017.

For the selection, the following will be taken into account:

    - The general diploma grade.

    - The affinity of the school of origin with the subject of the DPMS.
    - Performance in undergraduate courses relevant to the DPMS.

    - The topic and performance in the Diplomatic Thesis, if any.

    - Excellent knowledge of the English Language.

Also, the following will be considered:

    - Letters of recommendation
    - Any research and professional activity of the candidates

The Curriculum Committee (CCU) may ask the candidates for a personal interview and/or exams.


Those interested are invited to submit electronically, from Thursday 1 June 2023 to Friday 7 July 2023, the following supporting documents:

1. Application  - only in doc/docx format (Word)


2. Copy of diploma or degree


3. Final students will submit a certified copy of their score up to that point and a responsible declaration of Law 1599/86, that they accept their possible selection to be made with the condition of obtaining their degree, up to and including the repeat period of September-October 2023 and the issuance of the relevant certified copy until 20/10/2023.


4. Copy of detailed score.


5. Proof of knowledge of a foreign language.


6. A full curriculum vitae which must include documentary evidence of the applicant's studies, research and/or professional activity and scientific works (for which a copy of the cover and abstract should be submitted).


7. Degrees from foreign European Union Institutions need to have the Hague stamp (apostille), while in the case of degrees from countries outside the European Union, a Consular Visa is required.

8. Two recommendation letters electronic.

The announcement of the names of the successful candidates will be made if possible by the end of July 2023. The supporting documents of the successful candidates should be submitted in any case to the Secretariat of the DPMS (Building 5 of Mechanical Engineers - Shipbuilders, Office 001 - ground floor, Polytechnic University of Zografou) during the registration period for the 1st semester.
